A membrane is part of a complete system. Joints, floor-to-wall connections, penetrations and the final finish all need to be considered. Below-ground work may also require a drainage strategy and ongoing maintenance.

Is a membrane the same as an injected DPC?
No. An injected DPC treats suitable masonry, while a membrane is a physical layer or system. Which is appropriate depends on the moisture problem and the building.
Can a cellar be made into a living space?
Waterproofing is only one part of a conversion. Layout, ventilation, drainage and other project requirements need separate assessment before a usable-room promise can be made.
Will the wall need finishing afterwards?
Finishes depend on the selected system. Ask the team to identify any plastering, boarding or decoration included in the quote.
